Our Bodacious Biscuit Love Weekly Recap For July 17th - July 23rd
On Saturday, we had our yard sale. As mentioned before, it wasn't a Bodacious Yard & Bake Sale. We didn't offer biscuits or baked goods. Our goal was to clear everything out of the basement so Lisa could move forward with setting up her woodshop. Lisa had help moving totes and boxes from the basement to the biscuit room on Friday. Early Saturday morning, we had help setting up. Although it was a gigantic yard sale, we had more stuff than we thought.
Overall, we did rather well. Lisa and I both agreed that nothing would be going back to the basement except a single tote of vintage items. Everything else that was left over after the yard sale ended would be donated to the Salvation Army.
One of the highlights of the yard sale was selling the bench we repurposed the week before last. The finished product came out incredible! Lisa primed and painted the bench. I made decorative plaques to attach to it. I honestly didn't want to part with it, but we don't have the floor space here for a large piece.
What little floor space we do have will be the home to some DIY doggy beds I'm making in the near future.
I tried to sell the bench online, but a piece that big, and one that isn't able to be shipped, is a hard sell. I put the bench out at the yard sale. During the early afternoon hours, we had 2 very special visitors stop by, Regina and Laura. After a round of hugs, they announced the reason for their visit. They wanted to buy the bench. Lisa and I were both thrilled that the bench would be going home with them. That made parting with the bench a whole lot easier.
On Sunday, we were both wiped out. Having a yard sale is a lot of work. Despite sore muscles and exhaustion, we baked biscuit love all afternoon. It was a joint effort.
We have another busy week ahead of us. In addition to work, biscuit love stuff and everything between, our big backyard anniversary party is coming up this weekend! We are super excited.
