Introducing...Decorative Dog Bone Shaped Pillows
Towards the end of last year, someone from our Bodacious Community gave us some super soft upholstery fabric. We loved the prints. My initial thought was, "This fabric would be perfect for doggy beds or maybe...a reversible Bodacious Patchwork Doggy Quilt." I was excited to experiment with it and put it to good use. This week, it finally happened, but it wasn't in the form of doggy beds or quilts.
It was in the form of decorative dog bone shaped pillows.
This idea presented itself to me on a whim. I had been searching our Bodacious shelves for solid fabric. I was immediately distracted by the gorgeous upholstery fabric that I had yet to use.
My brain started spinning like a hamster wheel.
I created a rather large dog bone shaped template.
I pulled the upholstery fabric off the shelf.
I needed to make a sample piece.
Sometimes, between point A (my brain) and point B (the actual outcome), there needs to be a few adjustments before my vision and the finished product matches.
I Traced. Cut. Sewed. Stuffed. Stitched.
The final product came out exactly how I had envisioned it.
That very seldom happens.
I continued to cut and sew.
I managed to get 8 pillows out of the upholstery fabric I had on hand.
After stuffing and stitching up the rest, I already know I'll have a difficult time parting with these pillows.
