We Have A New Stove. This Is A Big Deal For Us.
Something really incredible happened today. We got a brand new stove. And, because I don't like to sound like a broken record, you can read about our brand new stove, and all of the excitement, right here. We are bursting at the seams. On the Bodacious Biscuit Love end of things, this is a big deal and it's going to make our biscuit bakin' life a whole lot easier.
This year, we're celebrating 4 years of spreading the biscuit love. Every single week, since October of 2013, we've baked biscuit love. Sometimes it's twice a week. Other times, it has been 4 or 5. It all depends on the time of year, any events we've had booked, and the amount of biscuit love we're spreading on any given week.
What hasn't changed is what we were able to bake at a time.
With Ol' Bessie, we were only able to bake 1 cookie sheet at a time. That single cookie sheet made approximately 1 and a 1/2 bags of biscuits. Bake time for each cookie sheet was 22 minutes.
It took a long time to make enough biscuits every week.
I attribute this to Ol' Bessie's age. She was old. The oven baked uneven. Sometimes, at 350, it baked more like it was on 450. Other times, like 250. She had a mind of her own.
Despite all, we monitored bake times and adjusted accordingly to accommodate Ol' Bessie's mood swings.
Now, we won't need to do that.
Yes, I had some "feels" when Ol' Bessie was being hauled away, but we bid our farewell the evening before. I thanked her for a wonderful almost-5-years. She did good.
New stove. New bake times. Two cookie sheets at a time.
