On February 1st, we launched the Bodacious 7 Days Of Love to commemorate Valentine's Day. During those 7 days, we featured 1 item up for grabs per day. Those items included 2 DIY doggy toy boxes, 2 handcrafted leash/pup apparel holders, and 3 Bodacious Patchwork Doggy Quilts. It was during these 7 days that we made the final decision to offer more quilts. We set a date. March 1st.

It's been almost 3 weeks since we made the announcement that we'll be offering more patchwork doggy quilts starting on March 1st. February has flown by! Two days ago, while chatting about upcoming biscuit love care packages, new dog treat recipes, and cool DIY Dog Mom Projects, it hit me. March 1st is only a few days away. I seriously needed to sketch out some quilt designs, dive into the mountains o' fabric, and rev up the sewing machine.

So far, the inspiration behind our weekly dog treat recipes has revolved around food. The source of our inspiration has come from a variety of avenues including our Bodacious Community, emails, replies to Facebook posts, private messages, conversations, etc. We've had suggestions roll in for meaty dog treats, grain free dog treats, dog treats with more fruits and vegetables, jerky, and more. However, this week's inspiration has nothing to do with food.

Something really incredible happened today. We got a brand new stove. And, because I don't like to sound like a broken record, you can read about our brand new stove, and all of the excitement, right here. We are bursting at the seams. On the Bodacious Biscuit Love end of things, this is a big deal and it's going to make our biscuit bakin' life a whole lot easier.

We've been spreading the biscuit love far and wide for over 3 years now. The list of great stuff that's happened, the experiences, and the opportunities presented to us is too long to mention. We've met hundreds of incredible "hoomans" and pups. Our Bodacious Community continues to grow. We've expanded a bit and now offer handcrafted goods. So. Much. Good. Stuff.

I absolutely hate sounding like a broken record, but I know, at times, because I'm the author of this blog and the Our Bodacious Dog Mom Life blog, there's a smidgen of repetition. That's entirely due to wanting to share the great stuff we do on both both blogs so no one misses out. DIY Dog Mom Projects. Our homemade dog treat recipes. Cool ideas. Inspiration. And, coming up, something new.

Since the launch of Bodacious Biscuit Love, we've had biscuit love displays at several locations. These locations have been all over the Connecticut map from as far away as Oakville to as close as 5 minutes down the road. Due to changes we've made over the years, especially in the past year, we've pulled our displays from several locations due to distance. Currently, our only location is as the VCA Plainfield Animal Hospital.

This year, we are determined to create a new, homemade dog treat recipe every week. So far. So good. At some point, last month, I realized, that's a lot of homemade dog treat recipes. By the end of the year, we should have over 50 recipes posted. At that point, I knew I needed to step out of the box. Or, better yet, kick that box to the curb. In other words, I had to broaden my horizons and create dog treat recipes that veered far away from what we've always done.

I spent quite a bit of time in the kitchen today, but it wasn't spent baking dozens upon dozens of homemade dog treats. Instead, we honored a tradition that we started 4 years ago. I blocked off most of the afternoon to make decadent Valentine's Day treats for the "hoomans" and the pups. Although Lisa and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day in the traditional sense, we like to take this day to extend a lil' extra love and gratitude.

We love it when people try their hand at making our homemade Bodacious Dog Treat Recipes. I know I've mentioned this many times before. And, I'll probably say it again, and again, and again. The excitement of seeing these photos will never fade.

We spread a lil' Bodacious Birthday Biscuit Love to our incredible fur-nephew, Dusty, today. He's celebrating his 15th birthday! We absolutely love and adore this sweet boy. Even though his age has slowed him down a bit, he's full of spunk and he LOVES our homemade biscuits.

The inspiration for this week's new dog treat recipe is Valentine's Day. In the past, we've made hundreds of Bodacious Valentine's Day Biscuits by simply making our original Bodacious Biscuit Love Peanut Butter Dog Treats in the shape of hearts, giving 'em a drizzle of our swizzle, and a pinch of festive sprinkles. This time around, we wanted to do something different. A lot of people reached out asking for a peanut butter free Valentine's Day Dog Treat.

If you live in portions of the New England area, you were hit with a massive snow storm today. Mother Nature pounded us and we ended up with a lot of snow in a relatively short period of time. When all was said and done, there was more than a foot of snow on the ground. But, that's okay. We stayed toasty warm in the kitchen...baking biscuit love.

During our Bodacious 12 Days Of Christmas, my goal was to complete a patchwork doggy quilt for the 12th day...the grand finale. I had most of the squares cut out. After 2 months of shopping around, we purchased a brand new sewing machine. However, things got really busy. We participated in the Whiskers In Wonderland event for the 3rd year (our favorite event of all time), we assisted some pet parents in need, there was lots of Christmas biscuit love to spread, and we shipped out some Bodacious Biscuit Love Care Packages. Instead of offering a quilt bundle for the last day, we offered a gigantic Bodacious gift basket.

Yesterday, we posted the 6th item up for grabs for our Bodacious 7 Days Of Love. However, we did a lil' something different this time. The evening before, we posted a photo of the item as it neared completion. I'll be the first to admit, the more I worked on this particular doggy patchwork quilt, it was becoming more difficult to part with it.

A couple weeks ago, we posted a request on our Bodacious Biscuit Love Facebook page. What kind of homemade dog treats did you want us to create? We wanted you to inspire us. Some people replied to the original post while others sent private messages and emails. The replies were all over the chart, but one thing stood out. There were quite a few requests for savory biscuits. That became my inspiration for last week.

The other day we offered our first leash/pup apparel holder. We had a piece of lumber left over from the DIY Doggy Platform bed we made last summer. There was enough to make 2 good sized leash/pup apparel holders. This is the 2nd one. I almost didn't want to part with this one, but...

One of the items that went quick during the Bodacious 12 Days Of Christmas was the Bodacious Movie Night Bundles. Due to the popularity, we ended up offering 2 of these bundles. That was the inspiration behind the 4th item we offered for the Bodacious 7 Days Of Love. Yep. Today's item is a Bodacious Movie Night Doggy Toy Box Bundle!

Remember over the Christmas season when we launched the Bodacious 12 Days Of Christmas? For day 12, my goal was to have a patchwork doggy quilt and matching pillow made. That didn't exactly happen. So, in place of that, we offered a Bodacious Gift Basket. At the time, I had the squares cut out. They've been sitting on one of the shelves in the biscuit room since. Those squares came to life recently because I was determined to finish what I started.

Last summer, we made a DIY Doggy Platform bed. We had a lengthy piece of lumber left over. It was sitting in our biscuit room for the longest time. I refused to part with it. I knew eventually I'd be inspired enough to use it for something. That moment happened a few weeks ago. I was sitting at the kitchen table fixated on our current leash holder we purchased a couple of years ago. The slab of wood was identical. It was cut down to size. Stained. Heavy duty letter decals were used to personalize it. Three hooks. A mini mason jar treat holder was attached.

The Bodacious 7 Days Of Love started today! A lot of work went into putting this together. I started working on the DIY Dog Mom Projects for the Bodacious 7 Days Of Love a couple of weeks ago. We spent most of this past weekend sanding, painting, adding details, etc. All of that had to be done before I could work on the sewing projects. We got quite a bit done, but there's still a lot to do!
