We Have The Utmost Respect For Confidentiality

Since the launch of Bodacious Biscuit Love, over 3 years ago, we've had the opportunity to spend time with lots of shelter and rescue pups. All in all, it's been an emotional roller coaster. We've witnessed happy endings. We've visited with pups the day after being rescued from horrific situations. We've spent time with senior pups who were abandoned by their "owners" because they were too old. And, everything between. I've lost count how many times the waterworks have poured down our faces during and after visits. Some are happy tears. Others, not so much.

Last summer, we made some changes. One of the biggest changes made is we pulled our efforts in a little closer to home. There was a time when we were spreading ourselves too thin.

You live, you learn. Growing pains.

In short, we wanted to keep our focus on our local shelter pups, pet parents in need, and other unique situations that were brought to our attention. And, we even made a Bodacious Biscuit Love Bin to keep stocked with food, treats, and other items to include in our care packages or to be available when needed.

If you'd like the detailed explanation of the good stuff, the not-so-good stuff, and our Bodacious Evolution conclusion, you can read about that here, here, and here

Since then, the response has been overwhelming. Change IS good. We've helped dozens of pet parents in need, donated biscuits to pet parents who have fallen on hard times, donated dozens of Bodacious Care packages, etc. To date, we've emptied and filled our Bodacious Biscuit Love bin 4 times.

Throughout all of this, we've had several people reach out to us asking why we're not posting details about WHO and WHERE our Bodacious Biscuit Love Care Packages are being sent to.

There's a simple answer for this.

We have the utmost respect for confidentiality.

To understand this a little more in depth, I need to back up a bit.

The changes we've made over the past year have yielded positive results. Through word of mouth, people have reached out to us with their stories and current situations. Or, we've stumbled on a request for assistance. People have even stopped us in public.

When people reach out to us, regardless of their method, the first thing that comes to mind is, "This person trusts us."

They trust us enough to share what they're going through at the time.

Maybe they've been laid off from their job and need some assistance with dog food and treats for a month.

Maybe they're not able to afford a winter coat for their pup or a new collar.

Maybe they're a little short and can't afford dog treats for the week.

Maybe their pup was just diagnosed as terminally ill.

Maybe they don't say anything at all, but we just know. Or, we hear through the grapevine.

Pride often runs deep.

The list goes on.

Pup parents from all walks of life and different situations have come to us. They've swallowed their pride. Opened their hearts. Displayed raw emotion. Vented. Cried. Have gotten angry.

We understand this. We've both been there. We don't judge.

We've put Bodacious Biscuit Love Care packages together for all of the above and than some.

Most times, putting these bodacious care packages together isn't easy on the emotions. As Dog Moms, it hits home. No one is immune to hardships or finding out that one of your fur-kids is terminally ill. It could happen to us. It could happen to you.

Yesterday, we put together a Bodacious Care Package together for a terminally ill pup who was given about 2 weeks to live. Biscuits. Cupcakes. Human and pup friendly beef stew.

I cried while putting this package together. And, I told myself, "When the recipient shows up at our home to pick it up, I'm going to hold it together...."

I almost did.

Although we feel good about putting these care packages together, at times, it pulls at our heartstrings.

How can it not.

Again, it's an emotional roller coaster.

This is one of the many reasons why we have the utmost respect for confidentiality.

We will never disclose who and where these Bodacious Care Packages are going to.

We will never betray a recipient's trust.

We will never judge anyone because of their circumstance.

On that note, we'd like to extend another gigantic thank you to our Bodacious Community. Because of you, we're able to put these Bodacious Care Packages together and do what we do.

"Great things are done by a series of small things brought together."
