Say Hello To Our Bodacious Carrot Cake Cookies
Last Wednesday, I whipped up our first new dog biscuit recipe for 2017. It almost didn't happen because I was out of dried fruits and dehydrated vegetables. I use those ingredients often during the process of creating new recipes. However, on a whim, I utilized what we had and that included fresh grated carrots. An hour later, these crunchy gems were cooling on the biscuits trays.
Our fur-kids were head over paws for these treats.
At the time, we had a couple of dilemmas. We weren't sure if the biscuits would fully harden. This was the first time I used fresh vegetables in a recipe. After the biscuits rested on trays in our biscuit room for about 36 hours, they hardened just like our Bodacious Biscuit Love Peanut Butter Dog Treats.
The other dilemma was naming these scrumptious treats. I'll be the first to admit I have a hard time coming up with names for our biscuits. I always draw a blank.
I reached out to our Bodacious Community on our Facebook page and asked for help. Almost a dozen people replied with some creative suggestions.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
We've decided to go with Bodacious Carrot Cake Cookies. The "carrot cake cookies" was suggested by Dana S.
We loved all of the suggestions. We went with Carrot Cake Cookies because it reminded us of the Carrot Cake biscuit we offered several years ago when we had a variety of flavors. This recipe is very similar to the one we used back then.
Thank you again to our awesome Bodacious Community! Don't be takin' those creative caps off just yet. I like the idea of creating a new biscuit recipe and having our Bodacious Community name it. This may just be a weekly thing!
