Our Own Version Of A Sip-Wine-And-Paint Evening Out
Not a week goes by where I don't see a Facebook post and photo from someone who has attended one of those sip-wine-and-paint evening outs. Personally, I think it's a great concept. However, we don't get out much and our fur-kids are never left home alone after dark. Needless to say, I don't have a wine inspired painting to hang on our wall. However...
Despite the heavy hearts from a recent passing of a loved one, I spent about 8 hours over the weekend painting snowmen and personalizing close to 100 of our Bodacious Country Crackle Holiday Ornaments.
A little wine may have been involved as well...
I knew I needed to get this work done. Usually, I put aside several hours a day to get time sensitive work done. This time around, nothing was planned. It kind of just happened. It was a sequel to how we spent the 3 year anniversary of spreading the biscuit love.
It was kind of great.
I started the process of hand-painting the snowmen.
That's no easy task.
Lisa sat down at the table and kept me company most of the time.
She eventually poured me a glass of red wine.
Lisa talked about sweet childhood memories with her Grammy while I sipped and painted.
The same thing happened the following day when I sat at the kitchen table to personalize the ornaments.
None of this had been planned.
It. Just. Happened.
At the end of the day, all of the ornaments were almost complete.
After a coat of protective gloss and a twine loop to hang, they'll be ready to ship and deliver.
While I was putting stuff away, Lisa said, "Does this count as one of those wine and paint thingies you've been wanting to attend?"
I thought about it for a few seconds.
"Yeah. It does."
In more ways than one.
