Last week, we wanted to visit the post office and get quotes on what shipping would cost for our Bodacious Holiday Ornaments. We've had people from all over express interest in ordering these. Unfortunately, it's difficult to get estimated shipping costs. For example, if someone from New York orders a single ornament, their shipping cost would be different than someone who ordered a half dozen ornaments from the same area.

We've had quite the Bodacious crazy, busy week and it went by fast! In addition to completing our sample ornaments, we finished our Bodacious Biscuit Love Bin! We reached a lot of goals this week. Here's the most recent update...

The goal was to finish our Bodacious Biscuit Love Bin by Thursday afternoon. Guess what? That's what happened. I finished painting the inside and bottom. Yesterday morning, before heading to work, Lisa put the bin together. An hour after I got up, I made the sign and secured it to the bin. Two hours later...THIS!

On the overnight, I managed to get two coats of paint on most of our soon-to-be Bodacious Biscuit Love Bin. Today I painted the inside and bottom. However, the second coat will have to wait until this evening. I'm making a mental note to never stick your head in a large wood bin, for any length of time, while painting without proper ventilation.

This is happening! The ball is rolling with some of the changes we're making with Bodacious Biscuit Love and we're super excited. A wonderful woman, Lea K. from New Hampshire, donated a wood shaped bone sign for our Bodacious Biscuit Love Bin. Shortly before that, the proverbial light bulb went off as to what we could use to make this bin come to life. You can read about that here.

Bone shaped biscuit love wasn't the only thing we baked in our oven this week! This year, we're introducing Bodacious Biscuit Love ornaments. There are several avenues of inspiration behind these ornaments. The first, I got sick and tired of rummaging through the meager selection of pup ornaments over the holiday season. We do this every year. Last year, I bid farewell to store bought ornaments.

The other day, we published a post to update everyone on the status of offering biscuit love, and eventually pet food, to needy families in our area. Despite a few concerns, we decided to go forth with this. We wanted to have these items available at our home for pickup once or twice a week. It would be similar to a food table. In addition, we'd like to set an afternoon or two aside to make biscuit love and pet food deliveries in our area. While those details aren't etched in granite yet, the ball is rolling.

We've been tossing the idea around about offering our homemade biscuits and (eventually) pet food to needy families in our area. We've received some sound advice from incredible "hoomans" who have been doing this longer than we have. Although we've had a few concerns in the past, we decided to go forth and get the ball rolling. We're very excited.

I've white knuckled a personal golden rule for many, many years. That rule included no pumpkin spiced anything until the first official day of fall. However, I fell off the wagon. I caved. Even though it's still the Summer season, I'm SO ready for Fall. I've broken all of my rules. I don't care.

Close to the last week of August, Lisa complained about a spot on her head that was itchy. I checked the area and saw nothing out of the ordinary. The following week, on a Monday, she woke up with a headache, flu like symptoms, extreme fatigue, and joint pain. At first, we thought she had a touch of the summer flu virus that's been going around. Lisa took a few doses of antibiotic she had leftover, from a severe cold over the winter, accompanied with Advil and Dayquil. Nothing worked. The headache was persistent.

I know it's still officially the summer season, but we are super excited to announce that we'll be at the Ledyard Animal Control's Whiskers In Wonderland event this year! It's our 3rd year participating in this event and we absolutely love it! The date is Sunday, December 4th, from 1-4 p.m. at the Gales Ferry Volunteer Fire Department.

In addition to baking lots of biscuit love over the weekend, we also made this DIY doggy bed. Although we designed the bed so it was big enough for all of our fur-kids to use, Lobo was the inspiration behind this DIY Dog Mom project. As most of you know, Lobo was rescued from a horrific situation. The day after his rescue, his hind leg was removed. In addition, at some point prior to rescue, he sustained an injury to his remaining hind leg that went untreated. His mobility in that hind leg isn't that great. Lobo isn't able to jump on furniture or go up and down stairs.
