People are always asking if we give our fur-kids biscuit love for snack. Of course we do! Our fur-kids love the homemade biscuits we make and they enjoy the variations of flavors. However, they snack on fresh fruits and vegetables too. During the summer months, they love watermelon, strawberries, and other safe-for-pups berries and melons. They're all addicted to raw carrots. We always make a diced salad to mix in with their dinner.

A few days ago I published a post about Sophie's 2 Year Gotcha Day. Since then, a few people have messaged us about the cupcakes and Gotcha Day hats. I've had requests for the recipe and how-to-make the hats. I'll admit, forgetting to add the links to both was a total dork moment on my part. Gah!

I really do my best to keep this blog site on a positive note. Our mission is to spread biscuit love to shelter and rescue pups, donate biscuits to pups who's "hoomans" have fallen on hard times, and to occasionally launch a fundraiser to purchase much needed supplies for our local animal shelters. It's our passion and there's nothing negative about that at all. Sure, in the almost 3-years of spreading biscuit love, we've had our fair share of trials and tribulations, frustrations, encounters with not-so-nice people, and stress. However, through it all, our attitude has always been, "Face forward and onward march because we have biscuit love to spread."

Today we celebrated our lil' Sophie's 2 Year Gotcha Day! We make a big deal out of Gotcha Days in our Bodacious Home! For dinner, Sophie wanted grilled cheeseburgers, sweet potato fries, homemade blueberry cupcakes with fresh butter cream frosting and, at the last minute, she requested white chocolate covered strawberries. And, on top of the hustle and bustle to meet her demands, I whipped up an adorable Gotcha Day party hat.

One of the things we're doing over at Our Bodacious Dog Mom Life blog site is creating DIY Dog Mom Projects. Like with our homemade biscuit recipes, our mission is to share fun stuff to make that are easy, simple and inexpensive. We wanted to expand on that a bit. There is so much stuff you can make for your pup/s...from beds to toy boxes to toys. As pet parents know, purchasing these items at a store can get expensive. Why not DIY?

We're not big. We're not popular. We're not a business. We run out of pocket. Our biscuits are baked here in our kitchen. So far, we have no events booked this summer. We do what we do because we love it. Spreading biscuit love to shelter and rescue pups, and families who have fallen on hard times, is what we do. Occasionally, we launch a fundraiser or two for local animal shelters in need. So, you can imagine our excitement when we got a special shout out over the weekend.

It's been less than 2 hours since we announced the winner of our photo contest to determine who will be the next face on our cards! A HUGE congratulations to Dusty! This sweet boy will be the next face on our Bodacious Biscuit Love cards and the recipient of a Box O' Biscuits!

It's almost the end of June and guess what? We have no events booked. Not one. Earlier this year, we received numerous emails extending invites. However, all but one required event fees. We're not a business. We're not a non-profit so we didn't fall into the category of "non-profits are excluded from paying event fees." One event suggested, in place of paying an event fee, that we hand over a percentage of our "sales."

The baking started early this morning and didn't end until about 9 p.m. Our biscuit table is filled with trays piled high with biscuit love. This week, we're shipping biscuits to a very special senior pup and spreading biscuit love to a few local animal shelters.

Back in May we asked our Bodacious Community to submit photos of their rescue pups. We're almost out of Bodacious Biscuit Love Cards and need to order more. When we order a new batch, we always change the photo. You can read about that here.

For the last few years, I've been very mindful of the many baked goods that I whip up in our kitchen. Aside from our biscuits, I bake a lot during the week. Whether it's for Lisa's breakfast or work snacks, special occasions, Gotcha Days or a festive gathering we're attending, about 90% of what I make is both human AND pup friendly.

A couple of years ago, we made various flavors of Bodacious Sandwich Cookies. This one, Miss Beckett's Bites, was a huge hit. The pups AND "hoomans" loved 'em. If I had to compare the flavor to something, it would be a slightly less sweeter Nutter Butter.

A couple of years ago, we visited a wonderful lady to deliver biscuit love. She was involved in rescue efforts and had 5 pups of her own. One of the pups was named Peanut Butter. Ironically, Peanut Butter did not like peanut butter. At the time, we offered other flavors including our sandwich cookies, but none of them were peanut butter free. Although we brought a variety of biscuit love that day, Peanut Butter wasn't interested.

We don't just ship and deliver biscuit love during the week! Sometimes, we venture out on the weekend to visit an animal shelter or two with lots of biscuits in tow. Yesterday's destination was the Preston Pound to visit this sweet nugget of love and the incredible ACO, Patti. What a sweet pup. Those eyes! He gobbled up some biscuits and was happy to have a visitor.

Since yesterday, we have added 3 recipes to Our Bodacious Dog Treat Recipes tab. We'll be adding lots more in the days and weeks ahead. The goal, after adding our old flavors, is to create and add a new recipe every week. We are super excited about this for so many reasons.

One of my favorite quotes is, "If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done." For me, that quote is a frequent reminder and one that played a huge role in officially launching Our Bodacious Dog Mom Life today. For months, I've been adding content, gathering our old dog biscuit recipes, creating new dog biscuit recipes, I created the Our Bodacious Dog Mom Life Facebook page, and everything between. I wanted everything to be done and as close to perfect as possible.

For the past two years, we had the same dog treat recipe tab. Every so often, we'd add a few recipes we spotted on Pinterest or scattered about in the virtual world. Today, we bid farewell to our old dog treat recipe tab and added the new 'Our Bodacious Dog Treat Recipes' tab. From this point on, the recipes posted will be ones created in our Bodacious Kitchen.

About a month ago, we made the announcement that we'd be sharing our peanut butter dog treat recipe. The response to that has been incredible. A lot of people sent messages and replies thanking us for making that decision. On the flip side, a few have reached out and asked why we would do such a thing.
