A Few Reminders About the Upcoming Event Season

Spring is officially here and you know that that means? Event season is right around the corner. We have a couple of events booked so far. In the past couple of months, we've received several emails for upcoming events. First and foremost, we are exceptionally grateful for any and all invites. Any chance we're offered to be out there, spreading the word, and helping to raise money for our local shelters and organizations, we do our best to participate.

In February we published a column mentioning a few changes we're making for the 2016 event season. You can read about that here.

I don't want to sound like a broken record, however, I need to stress a few things...

1. Event Fees. I always say, "We're still running out of pocket." After almost 3 years of spreading the biscuit love, we've accepted that's the way it's going to be. We are more than okay with that. We love doing what we do. With that being said, we're not able to fork over fees to participate in events even if it's only $20. With that $20, we can buy 4 jars of peanut butter and those 4 jars can make a lot of biscuits for our shelter pups. In place of a fee, we are more than happy to provide a Bodacious Raffle Basket. Our baskets are filled generously.

2. We're not a business. When people donate the $5 for a bag of biscuits, that money is used to purchase ingredients, supplies and to cover shipping costs so we can spread biscuit love to our local Connecticut animal shelters.

3. Sponsorship. Often times, events have the option to sponsor. With each sponsor price point, there's perks like having your name on a T-shirt or on the ads promoting the event. Please don't send repetitive emails asking us to sponsor. While we applaud the efforts made to raise money for the animals in need, we don't have the funds to fork over $100+ to sponsor. Do you know how much peanut butter, flour and baking powder we can buy with $100?

4. Bodacious Raffle Baskets. If you're having a fundraising event and would like to request a Bodacious Raffle Basket, please review our guidelines first.

The above mentioned, and a few other items from our February post, covers it all. With each season, we've experienced what works, what doesn't, what we can afford and what we can't. Again, thank you to everyone who reaches out to us. We'd love nothing more than to participate at each and every event, but that's just not possible. Maybe one day if we win the lottery...
