Don't Land Yourself In The Hooman Hall Of Shame

I can't tell you how many times throughout the day and night I come across dog-themed memes. They depict the life of "hoomans" who have pups. Whether it's not being able to pee alone or getting THE LOOK when you try to sneak fresh fruits and veggies in with meals, there's humor. Lots of it. I know all of you pet parents get it.

Don't Bury The Headline

One of the best pieces of advice I've received in my writing career is, "Don't bury the headline or title." For the most part, I adhere to this. At times, well, I'm human. A work in progress. Only time will fine tune my writing skills. And, for as long as I'm able to put words together to make a sentence and paragraphs and, hopefully, something worthy of reading, my brain will soak up valuable bits of advice from seasoned writers far wiser than I.

A Little Bit Of Greatness

A little bit of greatness happened today. We shipped biscuit love to the sweet shelter pups at Wolcott Dog Pound and Friends of Windsor Animal Care & Control. We purchased some doggy themed fabric on sale (we're all about sale and clearance) for our Bodacious Blanket and Bandanna Love. And, we're baking up OUR OWN biscuit recipes to feature and share on our new "life as dog moms" blog site launching in the next week or so. Busy! Busy! Busy!

A Few Changes With The Upcoming 2016 Event Season

One of the many things we enjoy about Bodacious Biscuit Love are the events we participate in. Over the past couple of years, we've attended quite a few. Last year, the invitations to participate in events poured in. This year, so far, has been no exception. Our first invitation to trickle in was last month. A few more have followed. We are honored with each and every invitation. Not only do we get to be a part of some extraordinary events to raise money for the animals in need, it's a chance for us to get the word out about what we do and our mission.

It's Not All About Us. It's About You And You And You.

If you haven't already noticed, we're featuring a lot more pups on our Bodacious Biscuit Love Facebook page and we're changing our profile picture every few days. We're posting photos that our Bodacious Community share with us, shelter pups who are looking for their fur-ever home and other miscellaneous photos that grab our attention.

A Shout Out To The Sugar Cookie Queen

On Valentine's Day our next door neighbors, who over the years has become part of our family, delivered some homemade "pup and hooman" friendly cookies. In the bag were big hearts, little hearts and lips. Lisa sat on the chair and let our fur-kids sniff the cookies. They were excited! They love and adore their Auntie Char and Uncle Bob. Getting cookies from them was a special treat.

6 Reasons Why We'll Never Become A Full Time Business

I have lost count how many times people have said, "You should turn this into a full-time business." Or, they've asked why we haven't converted Bodacious Biscuit Love into a business. In the beginning, when we were experimenting with dough, the thought did cross or minds. However, after our efforts trying to find locally made treats our Coco would eat, stepping into the world of rescue and animal welfare and getting to know our local Connecticut Animal Control officers and those who foster and rescue, the decision was made to do what we're doing now. Spreading the biscuit love to shelter and rescue pups and using our biscuits to raise money for shelter supplies and to assist with medical expenses.

It Was A Swizzle Fest Here In Our Bodacious Household

If you would have walked into our kitchen today, this would be the scene. Dozens of medium and large heart shaped biscuits covering our counters and kitchen table. Waiting. Waiting to be covered with swizzle and festive Valentine's Day sprinkles. For most of the evening, it was a swizzle fest here in our Bodacious household.

We Almost Lost Power All Weekend. Almost.

For those who live in Connecticut, especially in our neck of the woods, we've had a fairly mild winter including some record breaking highs. I'm not complaining. A week or so ago I opened the windows. It was that warm. However, and I've been saying this all winter, our luck is going to change. When it does, it's not going to be pretty. That's exactly what happened on Friday.

We're Including A Surprise Gift In Every Box

Our Smooches For Pooches Fundraiser is going strong! On Friday, we're going to begin our long stretch of baking heart-shaped biscuits! It'll be non-stop through most of next week. Baking the biscuits is only the beginning. Once dried, we swizzle about half of the medium shaped hearts, put labels on the bags, package, tape up and fill the boxes, seal, and add the address labels. It's a lot of work. However, it's all for a great cause and we're lovin' it!

We are officially launching our "Smooch Your Pooch" photo contest. With Valentine's Day right around the corner, and our "Smooches For Pooches" fundraiser underway, this seems fitting.
