Last December, for our holiday biscuit love theme, we did 'The 12 Shelters of Christmas.' We chose 12 shelters, featured the Animal Control Officer/s for those shelters and then shipped or delivered holiday biscuit love for the pups and "hooman" cookies for the staff. It was a huge success. Not only did we feature some of our many incredible local Animal Control Officers...there were a lot of happy pups enjoying biscuit love.

Thanksgiving is only a few days away. Once Friday hits, we're putting away our Bodacious Turkey and Autumn biscuit cutters. You know what that means. Our dozen or so holiday biscuit cutters will make their way out of our plastic storage container and into the drawer. Soon, we'll be stocking our displays with holiday shaped biscuits and it'll be time to grab bags o' biscuits to treat your pups or give as gifts. The holiday rush. We're ready for it.

The oven has been on most of the week. We baked close to 1,000 Bodacious Turkeys! That's a lot! However, it was worth every minute. We've got lots of biscuit love heading out today including some bags o' biscuits to fill Thanksgiving baskets for some families in need with pups.

Last year, we posted a column about Thanksgiving food safety for dogs. We included links to articles about which foods were safe and ones to avoid. And, there's even a link to a few recipes you can make so your pup can enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving feast. Well, it's that time of year again. Thanksgiving is right around the corner. So, we're reminding all of you pet parents out there to be careful!

This week, it's all about the Bodacious Turkeys! Today, through Friday November 20th, you can order up some Bodacious Bags O' Turkeys. Each bag includes 14 turkeys. We're asking a $5 donation per bag. As a sweet lil' bonus for your pup, we'll be adding a white chip swizzled turkey (not shown in photo) to each bag.

This week I was going through our biscuit cutter drawer and realized it was almost time to break out the holiday cutters. I paused for a moment and thought, "Is it that time of year already?" Yep. It is. This year has flown by quickly. Wasn't it just yesterday we were bagging up Bodacious Butterflies and Spring & Summer flowers? Well, Thanksgiving is less than 2 weeks away. After that...it's time.

Last year we participated in the Whiskers In Wonderland at the Gales Ferry Fire Department. We had a full set-up and donated a Bodacious Raffle Basket. Hands down, we had a blast! Lots of pups visited our table and it was non-stop fun. So, this year, we're doing it again! It's our last event of the year!

In April of 2014, we featured a sweet pup named Amos. He was found abandoned, emaciated and with a severe case of mange. About 90% of his fur was gone. The day after the incredible people at the Preston Pound took him in, we visited sweet Amos armed with lots of biscuit love. He gobbled up our biscuits with gusto. A week later, we delivered an Easter Basket filled with Bodacious Easter biscuits. Plain and swizzled.

It's a wee bit too early for Bodacious Turkeys. However, when we receive or purchase a new biscuit cutter, we like to test 'em out. We're like little kids with a new toy. We have to try it out. And, that's exactly what we did!

Recently, we put up a request for baskets. Over the past few months we've whipped up quite a few Bodacious Raffle Baskets and were almost out. We had 2 baskets left. Decent baskets capable of holding what we stuff 'em with aren't exactly cheap and can be a huge expense to us. When people donate baskets, we are more than grateful. This saves us a bunch of out-of-pocket money.

Last year, we were unable to find a turkey cookie cutter that would have been ideal for our biscuits. We spotted a few, but the cutters were either too big or two small. Or, it was one of those cutters where it presses a design into the dough. Nope. We've tried those and it was an epic fail. So, we were turkeyless last year.
