The Day Before Our Bodacious Yard & Bake Sale

The biscuit room. The living room. The home office. Cluttered. Boxes and boxes and boxes filled with yard sale items. The counters are almost entirely covered with bake sale items baked earlier today. Pumpkin bread. Apple bread. Mini pumpkin and apple cakes. Chocolate chip cookies. Pumpkin whoopie pies. Our table is set for breakfast to feed a few friends who will be assisting with setup first thing in the morning. They'll be enjoying coffee, juice and an assortment of homemade quick breads.

It's been a crazy, non-stop week preparing for our Bodacious Yard & Bake Sale. Each evening, boxes filled with yard sale items were hauled upstairs and put in various rooms. We baked extra biscuits for our bake sale table. I made signs. Lisa picked up tables. Details were ironed out. We went through a few boxes that had been donated at the last minute. Amid the craziness, we restocked our displays, delivered biscuit love to the pound pups and everything between.

It appears that Mother Nature will be kind to us tomorrow. While they're predicting wind gusts of up to 40 mph, we're prepared. Aside from that, it's looking like sunny skies with a mix of clouds. Cold. Tonight the temperatures will dip into the low 30's. We'll take it.

Everything is ready to go.

After weeks of prep and a crazy, busy week, we're ready to celebrate 2 years of spreading the biscuit love. No stress. We are not striving for perfection or for every single minute to go as planned. We're gonna have fun and embrace the Wabi Sabi moments. Often times, those are the most memorable. The most entertaining. The most comical. And with's time to grab a book, get comfy and catch some sleeps before the big day.
