An Incredible Biscuit Love Run To Wolcott

Today we made the tip to the Wolcott Dog Pound. It's the second time we've done a biscuit love run to this location (we usually ship biscuits to them) and, like the first, it was awesome! ACO Roslyn and ACO Dana rock the house and it's always a fun time...great conversation, visiting with the pups and a few laughs.

Unfortunately, only one of us was able to make the trip. Earlier that morning, on a whim, I checked the weather for today. Thunderstorms. What? At first, I thought it was a mistake. It's October 9th. We're supposed to be free and clear of this weather. Right? Mother Nature has a mind of her own.

On top of that, we had high winds all day and into the evening. At times, it sounded as though a freight train was passing by. The decorations we had just put up on the front porch were demolished...except for the pumpkins and lights. The lights inside of the house flickered a few times.

And what does any of this have to do with our biscuit love run?

Our sweet Sophie is terrified of the wind and storms. When the gusts sounded like freight trains, she paced the kitchen and living room whimpering. If I was at my desk, she hid underneath by my feet. I knew if the lights did go out, it would sound the smoke alarms. All of the fur-kids fear that noise. It hurts their ears. Heck, it even hurts ours. If storms hit as they predicted...well, that would add to the mix.

There was too much going on with the weather and we didn't want to leave the fur-kids home alone. I stayed home. I'll admit, I was bummed out, however, the health and well-being of our fur-kids is number one. Lisa left around 2:30 with lots of biscuit love for the pound pups, two Bodacious Fall Pails for Roslyn and Dana, two Bodacious Raffle Baskets for fundraising events to benefit our local animal shelters, biscuits and a gift for ACO Judy (to be delivered by Dana) and...a lil' "hooman" cookie love. And we picked up pet food and pet supply donations to distribute to our local animal shelters in our area.

Our vehicle was filled to the max when Lisa left.

Lisa had a wonderful time! We absolutely adore Roslyn and Dana. These two incredible women are passionate about what they do and they are the voice of the voiceless. They go above and beyond for all animals in need.

I think it's safe to say, sweet baby Ginger loved her biscuit love. She took matters into her own paws and put her face in the biscuit bag to retrieve some crunchy love.

In the next month or so, we're going to plan on another biscuit love run to Wolcott. We'll be keeping our fingers and paws crossed that Mother Nature cooperates.
