Our Gigantic Homemade Bodacious Heart-Shaped Cookies

Last summer, a friend of ours and her family were having a yard sale. To show our support, we stopped by. There was a huge selection of cake tins ranging from various sized circles and squares to Superhero characters. I spotted a gigantic heart-shaped cake tin and immediately scooped it up. It sat in the cupboard for a while. I don't make full sized cakes often...usually once or twice a year. We're all about the cupcakes in our household.

Months later, Lisa took a promotion at work. On the overnight, I wanted to whip a little something up to surprise her in the morning. I spotted the heart-shaped cake tin. Although I had the ingredients to make a cake, I was out of confectioners sugar for the icing. Damn. What about cookies? Meh. I make those all the time. Then, the light bulb went off. How about a jumbo heart-shaped chocolate chip cookie. Score!

It was waiting for her in the morning when she got up for work. And, she loved it. Since then, I've made dozens. Whether it's been for a special occasion or a "just because" sweet treat, when presented, eyes bug out and mouths drop to the floor. The cookie is huge. It's decadent. It's a little outside of the "norm."

If you've been to an event we've attended and had a display, you're aware we offer "hooman" cookies in addition to our biscuits. After all, hoomans need cookie love too. This week, after making a cookie for our Bodacious Tuesday dinner & drinks with family, we thought, "Hey, why not offer these too at our bake sale table." And, that's exactly what we're going to do.

Our Bodacious Heart-Shaped Cookies are HUGE and equivalent to about 2 dozen cookies. During the summer months, the chocolate swizzle on top is touch and go...limited. However, the cookie, naked or swizzled, is delicious! It's a gigantic version of our regular sized cookies.

So, if you're out and about on July 25th in Plainfield, stop on by. We're only making a few of our Gigantic Bodacious Heart-Shaped Cookies so once they're gone...that's it. You'll have to wait until our next event.
