We had an incredible afternoon at the Ledyard Animal Control Appreciation Day 2015. It was held at the gorgeous Alice Acres Farm Market & Greenhouses with Cows & Cones on site. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our table to chat, grab some biscuits & hooman cookies and show their support. There were a lot of familiar faces and we had the pleasure of meeting some new ones...both pups and hoomans. Our gratitude runs deep and we appreciate you!

Our event season is in full swing. We've got something going on every weekend in June and things are starting to book up for July and August. We love participating in events. In the weeks ahead we'll be in Ledyard, Wolcott, Windsor, New London and Putnam. As the months roll on, that list will extend.

I've mentioned Lil' Lobo countless times in our blog columns and included a few photos of him assisting with biscuit deliveries. This lil' nugget of love is a special pup who entered our life back in January. Mind you, we were not looking to extend our family. Two hoomans, two rescue fur-kids. Biscuits. Work. Very seldom a dull moment. We embraced each day as it came. The thought of expanding our family never crossed our minds. Then...

A few people have reached out and asked about the absence of swizzled biscuits on our displays. I probably should have posted this sooner. Dork moment on my part. I had it written down. Three times. Reminder after reminder. Write a short post about lack of swizzle. I put it off. My notes were buried under new ones. I apologize for that.

Last fall, we had launched a Bodacious T-Shirt & Biscuit Package fundraiser to assist with Fox's medical costs. We had a tremendous response. Tomorrow, we're going to launch it again to raise money for the Ledyard Animal Control Autumn's Fund. This fund is used through All Friends Animal Hospital to treat the sick and injured animals who arrive at the Ledyard Pound. It covers medical costs, medicine, surgery, flea & tick preventative, vaccines, etc.

In February we received a couple of DIY Pet Pillows. Our sweet Sophie immediately curled up on one and it was love at first nap. Since then, all 3 of our fur-kids have lounged and napped on 'em countless times. It's one of their favorite spots. And, it's been the inspiration to find as many DIY pet pillow and DIY pet beds as I can.

This August we'll be celebrating 3 years with our Coco bug. Coco's story is quite remarkable for so many reasons. Not a day goes by that we don't thank our lucky stars. The universe and fate worked their magic and he became a part of our family. Despite his physical and emotional issues, he made a complete recovery.

On May 9th, these lil' bundles of love were found in a dumpster. They had been tossed like trash and left to die. Thankfully, they were rescued by the New London Animal Control. At only 4 weeks old, they're hungry buggers and are going through 4-6 cans of kitten food a day. The New London Pound is running low and in dire need of canned kitten food.

Today began like every other...give or take a few tasks. Coffee. Take fur-kids out. A little desk work. Spend time with fur-kids. Swizzle a few dozen biscuits. Make labels for our biscuit bags. Make sure napping fur-kids are covered with their favorite blankets. Give 'em kisses. Check email and social media. Package biscuits. Get shipping boxes ready. Address labels. Take fur-kids out for laps around the yard.

Two summers ago I acquired a new addiction. Vegan ice-cream. Yes, this exists. It has the consistency of soft serve ice-cream when made. No ice-cream maker needed. It's cold. Creamy. Sweet. And, it took care of my occasional craving for ice-cream.

Since publishing 'Let's Give A Bodacious Welcome To Jody Liles', a few people have inquired about all this DIY pet items we're going to be adding to our blog site. Inquiring minds want to know! The concept itself is rather simple. Do. It. Yourself. Whether it's baking treats, sewing blankets, making your own frozen treats for dogs to cool 'em off this summer or everything between...you can skip the store-bought and make your own.

Today we took the day off. Well, sort of. We spent the afternoon at a local pound with lots of biscuits in tow. Spent a lil' time with the shelter babies. However, we were in the company of our beautiful friends, the grill was fired up, we noshed on some scrumptious food, enjoyed great conversation, a few laughs and soaked in the sultry summer-like weather. Once we returned home, it was snuggle time on the sofa with our fur-kids. Best. Mother's. Day. Ever.

Today we're launching a Bodacious Fundraiser for the Plainfield (Connecticut) Pound Pups. Earlier this year, we got a little creative and put together a Bodacious Grab Bag. These were a huge hit and we raised enough money to purchase blankets for the Friends of Windsor Animal Care & Control. We decided to offer the Bodacious Grab Bags this time around so we can raise money to purchase large & extra large natural bones, large & extra large Kong toys and peanut butter for the sweet pound pups here in Plainfield.

I vaguely remember the first time I "virtually" met Jody almost 10 years ago. We were remote employees working for the same company...living states away from each other. What I do remember is we immediately made a connection. Jody had been working for the company months before I had and she had the task of training me. Which, back then, was no small feat as I was just beginning my career in the online world. Despite my continuous state of somewhat clueless, Jody was patient and thorough with the training. My questions were always answered with a lengthy reply, screenshots and step-by-step instructions.

Dear Hoomans Who Have Have Stiffed Us Or Are Considering It,
I'm sitting here disgusted. I shouldn't have to write this. It's been brewing for a few months now. More so in recent weeks. I made the decision. It's time to put everything on the table for the handful of you, over the course of the past six months, who have made the heartless decision to stiff us. That's right. You ordered biscuits for your pup. We baked 'em up fresh and shipped them to you. You promised to put a check in the mail same day or next to cover the cost of biscuits and shipping. We trusted you. It's been weeks. Months. No check.

Mother's Day is almost upon us. I know. I know. Traditionally, this is a day for "hooman kids" to celebrate and honor their Moms. However, here at Bodacious Biscuit Love, we believe in honoring all the Bodacious Dog Moms out there! And...that's exactly what we're going to do!

A couple of years ago, an acquaintance of ours adopted a pup from a local shelter. After two days, she was posting desperate pleas for advice. Her newly adopted pup was peeing on the floor despite frequent trips outside. She was in a state of panic. Most of the rooms in her home are carpeted. Although she had caught a few pee spots before they dried, she knew there were more. Several rooms spelled of urine.

I originally started off this post with, "Mother's Day is May 11th and what better way to...." Then, I stopped. Redundant "holiday" marketing does not appeal to me in the least bit. We're not a business and we're not offering fancy, schmancy Mother's Day gift baskets accompanied with a bloated price tab.
