Make Your Own Sweet Potato Dog Chews

Last year, a friend of ours gave us a small bag of homemade sweet potato dog chews. She had received them from someone she knew who made and sold these tasty chews. I was a little skeptical. Prior to receiving these, I wasn't too familiar with this type of treat or even sure our fur-kids would enjoy them. However, they're all natural, healthy and made by a known source. Long story short, our fur-kids (even Coco who is not a fan of produce) were head over paws for Sweet Potato Dog Chews.

Since then, on occasion, we've made our own. Forking out $5 or more for a small bag of chews...meh. For the price you'd pay for one bag of homemade Sweet Potato Dog Chews, you can make 10 times that amount at home. Sweet potatoes are relatively inexpensive. We've purchased a bag of fresh sweet potatoes at ALDI Supermarkets for $0.99. One sweet potato alone yields quite a bit of chews. They're super easy to make especially if you have a dehydrator. If not, the oven works just as well.
