Last month we launched our first Bodacious Fundraiser of 2015. We offered up Bodacious Grab Bags for a $10 donation. All money raised would be used to purchase blankets for the Friends of Windsor Animal Care & Control. Our initial plan was to ship the blankets to Windsor along with some Bodacious Biscuit Love. However, at the last minute, we received a generous donation of blankets from a wonderful lady, Karen. Shipping was not an option due to cost. So, we made arrangements to personally deliver the blankets and biscuits.
Mother Nature had other plans in store and the Blizzard of 2015 hit. With slightly over 2 feet of snow on the ground, we were unable to make the one hour journey to Windsor. We set up another delivery day. More snow. Once again, we had to reschedule. We kept our fingers and toes crossed that Mother Nature would cooperate. That week, more snow, however...not enough to cancel.
I 'bout near did cartwheels down our snow packed road.
On Saturday night, I reached out to a wonderful friend of ours, Teresa. Back in December we had made tentative plans to visit her house in January. She is a wonderful lady who does a tremendous about for the local animal shelters and has adopted many rescue pups. Teresa, and her sister Tammy, are also part of our Bodacious Community and have supported us since the beginning. She lives close by to where we needed to drop off the blankets. After a phone chat, Teresa made plans to meet Lisa at the drop off location. Both her and Tammy had items to donate as well including toys, food and blankets!
Yesterday morning, Lisa, Teresa, Tammy and Lobo met at the drop off location. Sadly, I was not able to go. I was in the middle of a 3 day, non-stop biscuit baking spree with no wiggle room for breaks.
Lisa emptied out our car full of blankets and assisted with the generous donations from Teresa and Tammy.
And, they all got to meet and visit with Debbie...the fabulous lady who handles and distributes the donations for the Windsor pound. We thank her for taking the time to visit and her patience while attempting to coordinate our delivery between snow storms.
Thank you to everyone who purchased a Bodacious Grab Bag, donated blankets and helped to spread the word about this fundraiser. The shelves are now stacked high with blankets!
