Last week, Lisa and I brought Lobo to Grimm's Furry Tails for his first spa day. Bath. Groom. Nail trim. The works. We had a couple of errands to run on the way home. The first was a trip to PetSense in Norwich. It's a given we could take Lobo into the store with us. It's a pet supply store. Our second destination was Walmart. On occasion, we've seen small dogs nestled in carts while their "hooman" shopped. I don't recall ever seeing a sign stating dogs were not allowed in this particular store.

Most of our friends are pet parents. We often joke about what it would be like if we were able to claim our fur-kids as dependents. Dedicated pet parents know where I'm going with this. They're our babies. The center of our world. Our fur-kids are entirely dependent on us for everything. We clean up vomit and poop, bathe them, take them to the doctor when they're sick, purchase toys, clothes, beds and blankets, entertain them, etc. So, why not claim them as a dependent, right?

When the first snow falls in December (and on occasion in November), most people, including myself, marvel at the beauty. Just in time for the holidays. Oh, please can we have a white Christmas? By the time January rolls around, my tolerance for snow is at an all time high. It's expected. We're in the dead of winter. Hunkering down for a snowstorm or two is comforting. Throw on a pot of homemade soup, accompanied with a loaf of artisan bread, and things don't seem so treacherous.

Us New England folks are used to unpredictable weather, cold winters and everything between. Although Mother Nature's fury and weather curve balls are nothing new, this winter has taken its toll on a lot of us. Between the excessive amount of snow and below zero temps, it's safe to say most of us are ready for spring thaw.

It started Friday. Endless batches of heart shaped biscuits. Medium. Large. Our entire stock of trays lined the long table in the Bodacious Biscuit room. Cooling plates covered the table. Eventually, we had to break out the card table to use as an additional biscuit refuge. It was non-stop baking through Monday night.

Last month we launched our first Bodacious Fundraiser of 2015. We offered up Bodacious Grab Bags for a $10 donation. All money raised would be used to purchase blankets for the Friends of Windsor Animal Care & Control. Our initial plan was to ship the blankets to Windsor along with some Bodacious Biscuit Love. However, at the last minute, we received a generous donation of blankets from a wonderful lady, Karen. Shipping was not an option due to cost. So, we made arrangements to personally deliver the blankets and biscuits.

It takes quite a bit to deem me speechless. I very seldom find myself at a loss for words. However, recently, I was scraping every inch of my brain for exactly the right words. I needed to piece together words that would create an eloquent sentence expressing deep and heartfelt gratitude. However, that didn't quite happen. I stumbled. My mouth was to the floor. I'm almost certain the expression on my face matched the slight embarrassment of not knowing what to say.
