If you've ever had to give your dog a pill or two...well, I'm sure you're aware of the challenges surrounding that endeavor. We've all got a few tricks up our sleeves. Some, we have attempted ourselves. From hiding the pill in a tiny peanut butter sandwich all the way to shaping American cheese around the pill. Been there. Done that. At first our attempts to disguise the pill worked however, we were quickly reminded just how smart our fur-kids are. The "hooman" food is swallowed while the pill makes a ka-put noise on the floor.
Months ago we stumbled on this simple recipe for Homemade Pill Pockets. Super easy. Three ingredients. Less than 5 minutes to whip up. Our lil' Coco bug takes allergy medicine 3 out of the 4 seasons. This recipe has been a total lifesaver for us. He loves peanut butter. Both the pill pocket and pill go down smooth.

While Greenies is a reputable brand and preferred by veterinarians, my personal choice is make my own with simple ingredients I already have on hand. And...for MUCH less.
