Our Bodacious Cards & Labels Got A Lil' Makeover
I will be the first to admit I am a hyper perfectionist when it comes to fonts, colors, layout and images. I drive myself nuts and will spend hours tweaking this and that. And when I think I've got it just so, I'll walk away, do something else and come back to it a few hours later. If my first reaction is a "meh" then I'm back to square one.
This happened twice when redesigning our Bodacious Cards. The first time around, I went with a completely new design and layout. Frustration set in. I was too indecisive. Nothing appealed to me. I walked away, did a little housework, made a fresh cup of coffee and decided to give it another go. That's when the light bulb went off. Why change the design? We adore the colors and the paw print and bones border is fitting.
What we did want to change was the photo, our name and add our location. Sounds simple, right? For the most part, it was. Sort of. We had made the decision last week to change our name to Bodacious Biscuit Love. Throughout the posts on this blog, we've gone back and forth using both Bodacious Biscuits and Bodacious Biscuit Love. It got a little confusing. It was time to pick one or the other. We opted for Bodacious Biscuit Love as we wanted our cards, Facebook page and labels to represent what we are doing rather than what we're baking.
Inserting our location took seconds.
I saved the best for last...choosing a photo. The previous cards had a photo of our biscuits. For our updated version, we wanted a photo that visually depicted what Bodacious Biscuit Love was all about, had emotion behind it and one that had a special place in our heart. On July 21st I snapped a photo that fit this exact criteria.
Once the photo was sized up, uploaded onto the template and I changed the font, we were good to go. I walked away from my desk, occupied myself for a couple of hours and then came back. My first reaction was, "This is it!!" I sent a copy to Lisa via email. She approved.
The next task at hand were the labels. Although our label of choice was simple and quite plain, it took two days. I won't bore you with that piece by piece scenario. What I will mention is that our new labels and cards are ordered and will be delivered shortly!
