We've Got Over 200 Shirts To Sell!

A short while ago, the wonderful people at Raining Cats & Dogs, located in Olde Mistick Village, donated a large quantity of t-shirts and sweatshirts to the Ledyard Animal Control. After going through some of the totes, our first thought was, "These are super cool. Let's get the word out so we can raise some money for the sweet shelter pups." We brought a few totes home, the rest were delivered that weekend, and we spent 2 days getting the shirts organized and inventoried.

Changes! Changes! And...More Changes!

If you're reading this, welcome back! Our blog site was down for about a month while we were updating both design and content. This. Took. Forever. Most days, when I had put aside a few hours to make a dent in what needed to be done, something came up. It never failed. Murphy's Law. However, it's finally done. Well, almost. Enough so to go public.

Our Goal Is 50 Rawhide Bones For The Hartford Shelter

Today we are launching another Bodacious Biscuit Love fundraiser for the sweet pups over at the Hartford Animal Shelter. They are in need of large rawhide bones with the knotted ends. This is a luxury item and often times, the budget doesn't allow for such treats. Rawhide bones, along with sturdy chew toys, keep the pups occupied and entertained during their stay at the shelter.

Perspective Is A Beautiful Thing

In just a few short days the summer season will officially transition to fall. Saying farewell to summer has been a little difficult for me this year. It went by too quick. In past years, our porch decor is all set up for fall by the first week of September. This year...not so much. The bird bath is sitting in the middle of our walkway. Summer blooms are still adorning our porch railings. The cornstalks and pumpkins are hiding in the back yard. Not yet. Not yet. Not yet.

A Few Questions I'd Like To Ask Andrew Zimmern

I don't have a cushioned schedule and 95% of the time, my brain doesn't enter the sleep zone until after 5 a.m. I'm used to it. One thing I've learned in the past almost-decade of working at home is that shutting down my laptop and immediately crawling into bed is a bad idea. There needs to be time between work and bed for the mind and body to relax and unwind.

We Do More Than Just Deliver Biscuits

It wasn't long ago that someone had asked if we had a good weekend. Yep. We did. Then...the infamous question, "Well, what did you do?" After clearing my allergy laden throat, I replied, "Late afternoon on Friday we spent at a shelter spreading the biscuit love and visiting the shelter babies. Saturday we restocked our display in Oakville and made a pit stop to visit the shelter dogs in Bethlehem. After we got home, we played and snuggled with our furbabies. Sunday we caught up on housework, planned our upcoming week, and started baking biscuits in the afternoon."

Our Bodacious Cards & Labels Got A Lil' Makeover

I will be the first to admit I am a hyper perfectionist when it comes to fonts, colors, layout and images. I drive myself nuts and will spend hours tweaking this and that. And when I think I've got it just so, I'll walk away, do something else and come back to it a few hours later. If my first reaction is a "meh" then I'm back to square one.

Winter. Spring. Summer. Fall.

A few people have come forth and asked why we're not posting our usual quota of biscuit photos on the Bodacious Biscuit Love Facebook page. This morning I scrolled through our Facebook updates. Eh. The absence of biscuit photos is quite noticeable. We have been so busy with our Cans For Cookies Drive, visiting shelter pups, baking a steady stream of biscuits, spreading the biscuit love, and brainstorming. Throughout this, we overlooked a few things. Biscuit photos were one. The other?

The Cans For Cookies Drive Was A Huge Success

On August 20th we teamed up with All About The Animals Relief Foundation and launched a Cans For Cookies Drive. Our goal was to collect 200 cans of dog food in 10 days for Neccog Animal Shelter. In the past, when we've launched fundraisers for local shelters, it's revolved around our biscuits. This time around, we wanted to do something different. Instead of baking our peanut butter dog treats, we shifted our focus on "hooman" cookies. Fresh. Baked. Chocolate. Chip. Cookies.
