A Counter Cluttered With Boxes & Bags

This is the scene mid afternoon after a round of biscuits are packaged, counters are wiped down and bowls, cutters, spatulas and trays are washed...our routine and process between rounds. Some days we have 2 boxes and 8 bags. Other times, a half dozen boxes and 2 bags. It varies from day to day.

The Bodacious Easter Basket Week Was A Success

Today we're exhaling. Thursday's Bodacious Easter Basket delivery took us over 8 hours and every minute spent preparing, baking, swizzling, packaging, putting the baskets together and delivering was worth it. Originally, we dedicated April 17th as the official delivery day. As the weeks prior dwindled down, it became apparent we'd have to make a few deliveries throughout the week. And...we did. Each day we delivered a basket or two, Thursday was the big day and Friday we had an Easter basket pickup.

Changes. Changes. Changes.

Launching Bodacious Biscuit Love has brought on a copious amount of change...both physical and within our household. Positive changes. Some comical. A few...slightly tedious. It's quite noticeable to those around us. At times, we joke about the personal changes. And, we're aware that as time goes on and we expand (yes, we're talking about it), there will be more.

A Sweet Baby Named Amos

We can't begin to tell you how many times we've skimmed our Facebook news feed and come across heartbreaking photos of abused and neglected animals. The images are difficult to look at and the urge to press our eyelids tight is there...but we don't. These pictures burn an irreparable image in our brain. We have no shame in admitting our faces have been drenched with tears as we're flooded with a myriad of emotions.

Great Things Are Done By A Series Of Small Things Brought Together

Last September, heavy rains hit Colorado causing massive destruction. A woman I went to school with lives in one of the towns that had been hit. She posted continuously about the destruction, chaos, and included heartbreaking photos. People lost their homes, schools were closed down and life was rather grim for thousands of folks who had fallen victim to the flooding. She was one of the lucky few who did not lose her home.

The Traveling Biscuits

Hands down, this has been a record breaking week for us. This is what our counters looked like early Wednesday morning. Taking up the entire right hand side were individual bags o' biscuits and on the left, we had our brown handled "spreading the biscuit love" bags stuffed with these bags. It was an exhausting project but SO worth it.

No Meat. Not Now. Not Ever.

Over the past few months we've had some people send in requests for meat flavored biscuits. Peanut butter bacon. Chicken. Beef. Liver. A few suggested biscuits with cheese. Although this would greatly expand our flavor selection, we made the decision early on that we would not be offering any type of "meaty" biscuit. In fact, when we were in the process of creating our dough and experimenting with flavors, meat wasn't even considered. won't be. Ever.
